The 401k Service Training Program teaches professionals six
steps critical to managing a successful and compliant
employer-sponsored plan and culminates in the the Professional
Plan Consultant (PPC) Designation.
The PPC-Online program is based on and uses the same core content
training slides that the classroom program uses. Students
that sign up for this option will be given access to a secure
website to view the slides which are separated into several
modules and moderated by the instructors at FSS.
The online program allows you to receive the training required
to qualify for the Professional Plan Consultant Designation
at a substantial discount to the classroom based program,
without ever having to leave your office. The online program
provides the advantage of being able to stop and review the
material in more depth, and the convenience of being able
to go through the training program at a time and place convenient
for you.
The
PPC-ONLINE 401k Service Training Program - KEY FACTS
Continuing Education Awarded: This program has been
accepted for 7 CE hours by the CFP Board and this program
satisfies requirements for PACE Recertification credits.
Participants can earn 7 credit hours by completing.)
PPC Designation Requirements: complete classroom
or online program, successfully pass final exam, submit
designation application and pay $245 designation fee,sign and adhere to a code of ethics, meet ongoing
continuing education requirements
PPC CE Requirements: Twelve hours every two years
in a format determined by FSS (no cost)

Understand the regulatory bodies that govern the management

The 401k Service Training Program follows a curriculum
based on ERISA guidance and industry best-practices and
includes the following learning modules:
Defining success from the perspective of the Department
of Labor, the Plan Sponsor, and the Participant
Old Standards vs. New Standards as it relates to the
management of a qualified plan
Identifying and understanding fiduciaries roles and
responsibilities
Plan investment selection and monitoring criteria
Plan provider selection and monitoring criteria
Understanding and documenting plan expenses and conducting
benchmarking reports
Investment committee formation, responsibilities, and
documentation practices
Implementing a solid plan management process for ongoing
compliance
Participant communication guidelines including ERISA
section 404(c)
Participant education options and resources - building
an effective program
Current legislation and the plan sponsor's role in staying
compliant
Accessing and Implementing a Fiduciary Risk Management
Process
Identifying industry resources that help fiduciaries
understand and meet their responsibilities
